Where the monograph's facts come from: archived captures of the World-of-Food directory, and the organisations it pointed to.
Every entry in this monograph rests on two kinds of material.
The archived directory
The primary source is the Internet Archive's record of world-of-food.net, from its first capture in October 2007 through the directory's last coherent years. The home page, the country pages, the product shelves, the international organisations page and the journals page were all read in capture. Where this site names an organisation, a page or a habit of the index, it is because the capture shows it.
Captures after 2018 show a parked domain, and captures from 2025 show unrelated generated content. Neither is treated as part of the directory's history except as evidence of its end.
The organisations
The federations, institutes and journals named here are real and were real in the directory: EFFoST, IUFoST, the Codex Alimentarius, the FAO, the WHO, BEUC, CAOBISCO, the European Brewery Convention, Trends in Food Science and Technology, and the rest. Where an organisation still publishes, its current site is cited in the entry's source list. Nothing here should be read as a claim that those bodies endorse this monograph.
What we do not keep
The old directory's submission forms, its contact addresses and its mailbox are not reproduced. Links to third parties that no longer resolve are described, not reproduced.
